Does a Nokia F916 from Lebanon work in the USA?

When i went to Lebanon, my friend gave me his phone which was a Nokia F916. Its an awsome phone and it has a tv and FM radio tuner. The radio works because the signals didnt chnage but the tv…. none of the channels are working because the signals changed to digital. But shouldnt some local channels work? I tried channel4,5,7,9,11 and they dont work. Also its got dual sim card places so theres SIM1 and SIM2 and there is another sim card place only smaller. On the screen it says Emergency for SIM1 and Insert SIM2 for the second one. its an awomse phone cause its a touch screen and keypad and its got awsome features. So my questions are… Can i get the tv to work?(any possible way)… Can i use the phone in the US as in get a service and stuff? If so, which service and what kind of SIM do i have to buy. Can i just buy a Verizon SIM and get a plan or something. Please tell me whatever you know. Thanks

Whoa! So many questions.

1. First, F916 is *not* from Nokia, it is a look alike.
2. No, if the phone is designed for analog signals, even the local channels wont work (all digital).
3. Verizon does not have SIM, this phone will not work with VZ.
4. Based on band, it will work with ATT and T-Mobile.
5.You cannot buy “plan only” from the above mentioned. You have to get into contract, and have to get their phones.
6. You could get an ATT phone+plan, take the SIM from the new phone and put it on the old F916 and (assuming it is not locked to any provider) it should work.
7.All these are not worth it.
8.You would be better off using it as a paperweight or send it to Lebanon where it works.
